2006 State Audit Results
The State Auditor's Office issued an "unqualified opinion" on the City's financial statements and the 2006 audit report did not contain any findings.

The Auditor's Office issued two reports:

1. Accountability Audit:  The accountability audit determines whether the City complied with state laws and regulations and the City's own policies and procedures. This audit also examines City management's accountability for public resources. The auditors concluded that the City complied with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures and that the City had internal controls that were adequate to safeguard public assets.

2. Financial Statement and Federal Single Audit:  This audit examines the City's financial statements to ensure that they are fairly stated and that the underlying financial records support the information reported in the financial statements. As the recipient of major federal grants, Shoreline is also subject to the Federal Single Audit for grant recipients. This is a review of Shoreline's grant expenditures and records to ensure that the City has complied with the federal regulations and requirements associated with the grant. The audit report concludes that the financial statements were fairly stated and therefore an "unqualified" opinion was issued on the financial statements, that there were no findings and that the City complied with requirements of the federal grant.
