Planning and Development Services is responsible for long-range planning programs and land use and building permit services. The mission of the department is to ensure that the natural and built environments are healthy, safe, and reflect the community's vision by providing exceptional customer service, listening to our customers and proactively solving problems.

Continued Public Hearing on Comprehensive Plan Amendments with Associated Development Code Amendments on May 15
The City is proposing amendments to the Comprehensive Plan that will define planned areas and streamline Master Planning.

Public Hearing for Rezone Request on May 15
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on a request to rezone from R-12 to R-24 to convert a church into a family resource center, or allow multifamily development at 24 dwellings per acre, located at 14800 1st Avenue NE.

SE Neighborhoods Subarea Plan Meeting May 20
On Tuesday, May 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Briarcrest and Ridgecrest residents are invited to help the City develop a long-range vision for southern parts of their neighborhoods.

Shoreline Planning Work Program
The City has launched an ambitious program of public outreach, information and participation to implement the City Council's goals for 2007-2008. The specific steps and timing of these efforts are summarized in the Shoreline Planning Work Program.
