Q. Where can I get a Food Handler's Card?
In King County, call the Seattle King County Health Department at (206) 296-4600.
In Snohomish County, call the Snohomish County Health District at (425) 775-3522. In either case, you will need to complete a class and take a food safety test.

Q. Who do I contact  for  food stamps, childcare, medical, or financial assistance?
Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. North King County/Ballard Community Services Office is located at 907 NW Ballard Way, Seattle 98107 or (206) 341-7424.

Q. I'm renting and the residence has mold/rats/leaky roof. What can I do?
Landlord/tenant issues require a certain level of expertise. A good place to start is to call the City of Shoreline's Customer Response Team at (206) 801-2700. They will take your information regarding what may be substandard housing. For mold or other health issues, you can contact the Seattle King County Health Department at (206) 296-4600. For assistance with landlord/tenant issues contact: Attorney General's Office (800) 551-4636, Deposit/Eviction Disputes (206) 694-6767, Just Cause Eviction Information (206) 684-7899, Tenants Union (206) 723-0500 or King County Dispute Resolution Center (206) 443-9603.

Q. Where is the food bank in Shoreline?
The Hopelink Shoreline Center operates a food bank twice a month at 15809 Westminster Way N. (in Aurora Square next to Marshalls) or call (206) 440-7300 for days and hours. If you need food right away, also call the Food Bankd for an emergency three day supply.

Q. How can I donate food, money, or my time to the food bank?

Q. I need help paying my rent/utilities.
The Hopelink Shoreline Center provides emergency financial assistance for a variety of needs. Income restrictions apply and you will have to show payment history and proof of income. Payments are made directly to the vendor (your utility or landlord). Call (206) 440-7300 for an appointment.
