The mission of the Shoreline Police Department is to prevent crime and create an environment where people feel safe, while providing quality, professional law enforcement services designed to improve public safety.
The Shoreline Police Department is comprised of an administration department headed by the Police Chief. It includes a Burglary/Larceny Unit, a Street Crimes Unit, reactive patrol that responds to calls for service, special support services and traffic patrol.
Services are contracted through the King County Sheriff's Office, but officers are dedicated to Shoreline, wear Shoreline uniforms and drive Shoreline patrol cars. Shoreline's Police Chief Dan Pingrey is part of the City's Leadership Team.
