Mayor KEITH MCGLASHAN, position 1

Keith McGlashanElected to the City Council in 2005 and 2009, Keith McGlashan has been part of the Shoreline business community for over 26 years. His business, James Alan Salon, was selected as Washington CEO magazine’s “Best Small Company to Work For” in 2003 and 2005. Councilmember McGlashan has served as co-president of the Shoreline Public Schools Foundation and president of the Shoreline Community College Cosmetology Advisory Board. He was a founding director of Forward Shoreline, executive board director of Northshore/Shoreline Community Network and a member of the board of directors of the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce. Since becoming a councilmember he has represented Shoreline regionally as an alternate on the SeaShore Transportation Forum and as a member of the governing board for the King County Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness. Nationally, he represents Shoreline as a member of the steering committee for the National League of Cities, Community and Economic Development Committee, and as a board member of the Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Local Officials Committee (GLBLO). Keith enjoys spending time with his grandson, visiting with people in the community, riding his motorcycle, traveling and photography. His term expires December 31, 2013.

Deputy Mayor Chris Eggen, Position 2

Chris EggenChris Eggen was elected to the City Council in 2007 and 2011. He grew up in Seattle and attended the UW in Physics and Electrical Engineering. Chris married Donna Kenney in 1967. They have two children, Brian and Kristy, who both graduated from Shorecrest High School. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired in 2008 as a project manager from the UW Applied Physics Laboratory. Chris has a long record of community involvement supporting youth and education, environmental issues, local business, and the City of Shoreline. He participated in Shoreline YMCA programs with his children and coached a number of youth sports teams. He served on the boards of the Paramount Park Neighborhood Group, the Shoreline Solar Project, and Sustainable Shoreline. He has served on the board of the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, on the Shoreline Housing Advisory Committee, and on the Parks Bond Committee. Chris is currently treasurer of the Shoreline Dollars for Scholars. On the Council, Chris is a strong advocate of transit and is chair of the SeaShore Transportation Forum and has been a member of three other policy-setting regional transportation committees. He is also active on other regional issues and is Vice Chair of the Municipal Solid Waste Advisory Committee and is on the Executive Committee of the Suburban Cities Association. Chris was raised by a single mom who worked as a union waitress and is a strong union supporter. He is a Democratic PCO and on the 32 LD Democrat Executive Board. His hobbies are walking, reading history and science, and golf. His term expires December 31, 2015.

WILL HALL, position 3

Will HallWill Hall was elected to City Council in 2009 and served as Deputy Mayor from 2010 to 2011. He and his wife Laurie Lindblad grew up in King County and have four generations of family in the area. They enjoy the outstanding cultural and recreational opportunities in our region, including arts, hiking, skiing and scuba diving. Will served on Shoreline's Planning Commission for six years including terms as Vice Chair and Chair. His professional experience includes environmental planning, public policy, teaching, consulting, and owning a small business. He volunteered as a scout leader and soccer coach, and served on the boards of regional and national environmental organizations. At the request of the Association of Washington Cities, he represents 112 cities on the Puget Sound Partnership Ecosystem Coordination Board, which works to restore the health and sustainability of Puget Sound. He also serves on regional policy and economic development committees. Will has a bachelors degree from the University of Chicago and masters degrees from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Washington. His term expires December 31, 2013.

Doris McConnell, Position 4

Doris McConnellElected to the City Council in 2007 and 2011, Doris McConnell has been part of the Shoreline community for over 24 years. She moved to Lakewood, Washington, in 1968 when her father retired from the United States Army. She received her bachelor’s of science degree in psychology from Washington State University. She has served for many years in Shoreline PTA in a variety of capacities including president, secretary, treasurer and vice president at both the individual school and district level. Doris has also served on numerous Shoreline School District advisory boards and is an active Richmond Beach Community Association volunteer. As a City Councilmember, she has served and continues to serve locally on the Regional Water Quality Committee, Domestic Violence Initiative and Seashore Transportation Forum as well as nationally on the Human Development Steering Committee and on the APAMO (Asian Pacific American Municipal Officials) board. She enjoys church and family activities as well as outdoor recreation such as skiing, tennis and camping. Doris has two children: her daughter, Angela, is a graduate of the University of Washington and employed with Oppulent and her son, Scott, is a student at Azusa Pacific University, studying business. Her term expires December 31, 2015.

Chris Roberts, Position 7

Chris RobertsChris Roberts was elected to the Shoreline City Council in 2009. Chris graduated from Willamette University in 2000 and earned a PhD from the University of Washington in 2012. On the Council he serves as a member of the AWC’s Economic Development and Quality Infrastructure Committee, the SCA's Public Issues Committee and represents the City at WRIA 8. Before his election, Chris served as the Legislative Assistant to Oregon State Representative Bill Garrard (2001). Chris is a representative from the 32nd Legislative District to the Washington State Democratic Party and Chair of the Native American Caucus. Chris, his wife Heather, and his son Clark reside in the Briarcrest neighborhood. His term expires December 31, 2013.

Jesse Salomon, Position 6

Jesse SalomonJesse Salomon was elected to the Shoreline City Council in 2011. Jesse grew up in King County, earned his B.A. at Western Washington University in 1999 and his law degree at the University of Washington in 2002. After graduating, Jesse served as a prosecutor for the Lummi Nation in Whatcom County. He protected children by removing them from abusive homes and protected survivors of domestic violence. He also co-founded and served on the board of Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets, which helps youth in King County to get off the streets and find employment. Jesse currently works as a Public Defender in Seattle Municipal Court. He is an experienced trial attorney but has spent much of this time in alternative disposition courts, where he helps homeless and substance abusing clients to get back on track with their lives. Before his election Jesse served on the board of the Ridgecrest Neighborhood Association and represented them at the Shoreline Council of Neighborhoods. He has also been active in the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce. Jesse owns a home in the Ridgecrest neighborhood, where he lives with his partner Sarah and their rescued dog Wishbone, who they admittedly spoil from time to time. In his off-time Jesse enjoys hiking, snowboarding, sport fishing, international vacations along roads less traveled, and reading non-fiction books on history and politics. His term expires December 31, 2015.

Shari Winstead, Position 5

Shari WinsteadShari Winstead was elected to the Shoreline City Council in 2009. She has lived in Shoreline since 1992 and has served the community in many ways over the past 17 years. Shari has one son who graduated from Shorewood High School in 2005. She works full time for a corporate law firm in Seattle. Community involvement has always been a priority and a pleasure for Shari. She has held leadership positions in many community organizations including serving on the boards of Richmond Little League, the Echo Lake Neighborhood Association and the Partnership for Youth Justice. She was also a founding board member of ShoreDog. Prior to being elected to the Council, Shari served the City on many advisory committees. She co-chaired the successful 2006 Parks, Open Space and Trails Bond Vote Yes! Committee and then served as a member of Shoreline’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Board. Her term expires December 31, 2013.
