Access to sources of healthy food and knowing how to prepare healthy meals provide the foundation for healthy diets and lower the risk of obesity and diabetes. The City places a priority on advancing healthy eating and ensuring residents have access to nutritional food.

Past Events:
The City's second annual Eats4Health kickoff event was held on April 2, 2013 at City Hall. Certified Health and Nutrition instructor Cynthia Lair gave a keynote address on "Mindful Cooking." Visit Cynthia's website at cookusinterruptus.com for the recipes she spoke about in her keynote address.
Before and after the keynote attendees sampled food, pick up new recipes and got information at a vendor fair of local companies and organizations. Thank you to all who attended and the community partners who participated.
