Community-driven park planning is a dynamic process that addresses community desire and recreational demands. Giving guidance to this process is a long-term planning document created as a collaborative effort between the City of Shoreline and Shoreline residents. The Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan describes the vision, goals and policies that provide a foundation for future maintenance and development of Shoreline’s parks, recreation and cultural service programs.
The PROS Plan inventories projected needs of existing assets, identifies capital project recommendations and describes a strategic plan for implementation. These recommendations are implemented through the City of Shoreline Capital Improvement Plan and voter approved capital improvement bonds such as the 2006 Open Space, Parks and Trails Bond. In addition, these vision, goals and policies become elements of the City of Shoreline Comprehensive Plan.
